I am a qualified, BACP registered, counsellor providing counselling and psychotherapy in Davenport, Stockport, Cheshire. Before qualifying I spent many years working in the voluntary/ charity sector. During this time I gained experience of working with people with a range of difficulties through my involvement, amongst other things, with the the rehabilitation of offenders in the community and the Stroke Association. I originally trained as a solicitor and worked in private practice and for a large insurance company for over 20 years.
Life and leisure
I am married with 2 children who are both in further education. In my spare time I enjoy walking with my dog, film, theatre and music and spending time with friends.
All of my work is underpinned by a strong interest, gained through personal and professional experience, in the impact of childhood experiences, historical family issues, social and cultural issues and diversity on self esteem, relationships at home and at work, identity and psychological wellbeing.
I believe that everyone has a right to therapy. I offer concessions to counselling and psychotherapy students and those on low income. I split my time between my private practice, employment as a psychological therapist working for the Stockport NHS Community Eating Disorder Service and working as a volunteer counsellor at the Stockport Women’s Centre.
